Thank you for your time.

As you read a book by candlelight,
A single fire keeps the pages bright

But the longest wick does not grow
Yet you may read in the dullest glow

So enamoured with the pages' ink
You let your mind wholly sink
Not until the dim light dies
Will you notice how time flies
You won't know a things askew
Until darkness takes your world from you

A choice not given
No question was asked by us
We made two lives one.
Pitch waiting to burn
Your beauty consumed my mind
Burned to my vision.

We left this cold world
In our own we kept a fire
Hidden from all else.
Eyes closed, I shudder
My skin has been cold for months
My thoughts smolder yet
I'll reel, suddenly
Forced to recall that you're gone
Why, still escapes me

I fail to see it
My vision marred by your light
I awake alone
Weaned off Heroine,
The woman who owned my heart,
Without knowing it.

You never left me .
But slowly you became gone
Then I was lonely.

The color of love
Drain from me, paint my display
Take your warmth with you.
I know the process
To be gone but never leave
Shall Earth reel with loss?
Should you return here,
Eyes marred by the light I gave,
Know me by my mark.
