One day, Samantha thought to herself "Oh, I got a great idea! I'm going to write
a what-if FMA fanfic and make it a huge character analysis!"
20 pages later, and now she has dug Ed, and in turn herself, into a hole she may not
be able to completely dig Ed out of.
Erm, yeah. Gonna talk about this a bit.
What I'm referring to relates to this:
Yeah, that story.
Not like anyone cares, but I'm going to go into a bit more detail on that because,
frankly, it's getting really out of hand and I need some way to rationalize my
So, again, this idea for a What-If story in the FMA universe occurred. Think of it
like DC's "Elseworlds" or Marvel's "What If..." series'. I took characters out of
their normal continuity a bit so I can write a different story on them. Mainly, it
was a character analysis of Edward, since in my enthusiasm as a fangirl, I sometimes
want to write him a bit differently than he actually is.
I gotta remind myself that he can be headstrong, foul-mouthed, and rude once and
But yeah, this story roots more from an inquiry I had about the FMA world: Don't
psychologists exist in this world?
The poor Elric Brothers need some therapy!
So in my Elseworlds FMA story, psychiatric hospitals now exist.
But from personal experience, I can tell you that normal therapy is really boring, so
I had to up the anti a bit. But what to do...?
How about have Edward develop multiple personalities?
I turned to google for information on MPD, and found that it often springs from
I found that too good for my purpose.
And so, I started wrapping a scenario for Edward to be discovering these
personalities, and now I'm, like, 20 pages into the story.
However, I never intended to share the story, so don't expect me to go posting it up
If you're absolutely curious and you'll die if you don't read it, I suppose if
you asked me really nicely and if I was good friends with you, I could send it
privately. Just...expect weirdness.
