Is anybody around here an expert on how much people should weigh?
I'm currently about five-foot, six-and-a-half inches tall and I weigh about 125 lbs,
but I have almost no fat on my body. My legs are bigger than most of the girls in my
grade, but they're all muscle, as is almost every part of my body. I just want to
lose that tiny extra bit of stomach fat now.
My goal weight is 121 lbs (it's a complicated BMI, dancer, athlete sort of equation
that brought me to that number). However, I'm working on building my arm muscles as
well. Muscle weighs more than fat, so I understand that if I keep gaining muscle, I
might not be able to lose that much weight.
Anyway, my question is, is 121 lbs (with considerably less fat than most people of
that weight would have) too low for my height? I don't think it is, but my mother
I think it should be noted that I am not losing this weight by dieting. I've been
exercising for an hour each day on top of training for dance, and trying to eat less
junky, processed foods. That's it. I feel that as long as I'm doing it in a
healthy way, I shouldn't have to worry unless I reach about 115 lbs, or a BMI of
18.6, which places you at risk of being underweight. I don't even want to be
anywhere near that small...
