i tend to enjoy Zombie Movies
and horror movies (I actually prefer Horror-comedies) in general
but i was angered to hear on television someone saying that "fast zombies" are
scarier than the run-of-the-mill zombies one usually encounters
ZOMBIES AREN'T SUPOSED TO BE FAST!!!!
it's not the zombie itself that's scary
in fact one, even two Zombies fail at invoking more than an "eew"
for these reasons:
they tend to smell
they're slow moving (at least they should be)
they also, quite frequently, look fairly silly (with all the akward stumbling)
so it wasn't the Zombies themselves that were scary
it was the fact that there were so damn many of them!
(plus the fact that they look like us but obviously aren't us)
it's not actually fear
it's the feeling of hopelessness,
the feeling of being stuck between a proverbial "rock and a hard place"
where your only options are to die or to fight, and where there aren't enough bullets
in the world to kill them all
and eventually it all comes down to how one wants to die...
That's Why Zombies are scary
but sheer numbers
