My idea of "2012".Category: (general)

I don't think the world will literally end. But I've always said that the way we
veiw the world might come to a close. If SETI succeeds, and we find out that
someone else has been using radio waves, then we would veiw our place in the universe
in such a new way that it would be as if our old humanity had "died". It's just that
something else would replace it.

I've just thought of a new way this could happen. So many differnt cultures have said
that the world would end between twenty twelve aqnd twenty wenty four, they actualy
base their concept of time on it. The world doesn't have to end, but for these
culutures to continue as is something has to happen. A volcanoe. Solar flares.
Something, anything.

Because if nothing happens... Something will happen. If peoples religous faith
involves great change in twenty twelve, then that not happening could lead to people
abandoning their faith, or generally feeling lied to by there ancestors.

People have been twisting the words of scientists so that science seems to support
these doom theories. If nothing happens, will people abandon science?

Humans need to beleive something. There is a part of the brain that does nothing but
give us a sense of what is our bodies, and what is The Everything Else. If a
significant number of people lose faith in science, religion, and their cultures,
where will we be?

On a side note- I really wish people would stop using Hurricane Katrina as a sign the
these proficies are coming true. Because, and I'm going to be honest, there were
hurricanes back then too. It wouldn't take much thinking for anyone to assume
hurricanes would be around today.
It wouldn't take much creativity for anyone to say that there will be big
hurricanes while other bad things are happening. Most of these theories lump fire
raining up into the sky along with the Great Storm that everyone says is Katrina; if
a bunch of planes were shot out of the sky at the same time then I suppose I'd buy
into the idea of "well what about Katrina? That prooves it!". As it is though,
I really think Katrina was a horrible disaster, caused by global warming. Hurricane
Katrina was not the end of the world.

I'd love some comments.

ineresting thoughts i agree with that sort of this too it reminds me
of the thing that people say like" did you know that every second of
your life a baby is born and sombody dies?" like that it also reminds
me of when they say that it reminds me of supply and demand when
sombody dies sombodys reporn to replace them. wierd huh but yea i also
do not believe the world will not end in 2012 cause the world is not
that bad as it used to be during the industrial revolution.

An interesting look on 2012. It makes my view on it a bit better. I
would always hate it, but this makes it a wee bit more enjoyable.

All I can say is "I can't wait to see what happens"

The people who think that the Earth will suddenly collapse in on
itself, or die in a flood are just kinda crazy. But people really
think something will happen, and that makes things happen. Even
if it's just everyone acting stupid the day before.

eh so true but im not ready to die if thw world does end but theres
always the Question before you die "is there a heaven?" man this diary
is filled with so many questions that hardly anyone ponders.

I believe a polar shift might occur, a very slight one, or a slow

Hmm. I remember you talking about this once in a message.
My friends and I were just talking about how some people who actually
believe the world will collapse on itself might just do whatever they
want because they think there will be no time for punishment.
I'm scared to think what some people will do when the day comes.

I definately think some sort of something will happen somehow. (Sooo
specific, I know.)

Bah, it's been proved wrong but I'm too lazy to repeat myself again.
Basically, no the world won't end by 2012.

I think Katrina was so bad because of some wetlands science that my
6th grade teacher pounded into me. Global warming might have made it
grow a bit, but if the natural barriers that had always been there in
the past had been there it definately wouldn't have been as bad. Of
course, they're disappearing thanks to rising sea levels, so I guess
it all comes back to global warming.
Kirti says:   28 September 2009   356634
Lollylove- my point was that duh, the world won't end. But because
people think something will happen, something will.

Well, I'm a Christian so I
believe in the fact that the world will end when
God wants it to end, like, it could end in
the next 5 minutes, tomorrow
or whatever, but I
really don't believe in the 2012 shizz
but that's just me and what I believe.
‹◄chery♦桜の木♦blosom►› says:   28 September 2009   983776
yea im a christion too so if he created this world why would he want
to end it its not just science that says it will you never know
someone could have done somthing wrong on the project destiny like if
you watched the movie the core where they travel to the center to the
earth to save the rold ugh i hate that movie our teacher made us watch was sad waa but yea i dont believe the world will end i think
itll end like in the super future when theres hovercars and like your
able to fly umm...this questions odd but do you think in the future
someday someone actually has powers or magic becomes reality cause if
it did i want a ped hipagrith like buckbeak from harry potter oohh i
love that thing its so cool.

Look, I'll say it again- I don't think the world is going to end in
twenty twelve.

... Why would God end the world? Science can give reasons for
the Earth being destroyed at some point in time, religion just
promises that it will.

I think I've got a rough idea of a thing that might happen because
we want it to happen... haha. You get it, right? It's really not
funny, but... whatever.
You know what I'm saying...?

*I feela ll mysterious and stuff!*
roxanas says:   30 September 2009   896141
maybe we can live on mars IF that happens. but i dont want it to.
never ever end, world. guys, science ends the world, not the mayan
calender or religion. read it, understand it, eat it up. ok pashaw.
Kirti says:   1 October 2009   991469
Roxi... I just said that nothing will physically happen to the
Earth... And you said if that happens we should go to Mars.

... How would science end the... Oh, never mind, it's not like you
read it.

i still remember when in elementary school people were saying that

2000 didn't happen so like it's not really possible for 2012 to
It's sort of interesting to talk about/ Due to everyone's boredom.
Oroborus21 says:   4 October 2009   746983
that is an interesting posssibility
‹¤Kyle¤HoldOnTight¤› says:   4 October 2009   895657
The only scientific possibility of the3 world ending on 2012 is a
global pole shift.
The Bible supports said pole shift.

The Mayan calendar started all this
It is a cycle
its also a circle,
it ran out a space so it starts over.

Tell me
Everyone now, get up
Walk in a Perfect circle
around its circumference
tell me when you reach the end.

Rainbow- Please actually read a diary before posting a condescending
comment like that.

Everyone else- I don't think the world is going to end. Really. But
something will happen.
