It's been bother me for years, but these days I just can't stand it.
I don't want to look at the moon.
It just looks wrong. It's too small. I can't stand it. I just know it should
be bigger. I know how important the moon is, and how without it we wouldn't tilt on
our axis, and pretty much everything would die, but it just seems so... Off, somehow.
I don't want to have to see it night and day. (Yes, you can see the moon
during the day sometimes.) It's not that I want it to be gone. But if it's going to
look like that, I don't want to see it!
The moon is moving away from the Earth at a rate of one centimeter per year. It
really did use to look bigger. Now whenever I see it I'm almost counting down- when
will it fall out of orbit? When will the tides stop? When will the tilt go away? When
will we stop having something big nearby to pull astriods away? A million years? A
thousand? Just a few centuries?
People talk about blasting garbage off the face of the Earth to help clean things up.
Don't do that! If we loose any of our gravity, the moon will just get smaller
Sorry if this seems hysterical or crazy, I just had to vent...
