Shades Of Ruin :.:Prelude:.:

The seat in front of me was calling my name, just wanting me to sit and ease my
dizziness in its iron frame. Then my eyes once again fluttered toward the small,
sharp sliver of metal protruding from the far corner of this evil chair, I quickly
grabbed the door frame instead. I peaked out the door, scanning the room for three
people. A tiny tear formed in my eye as I tried to convince myself that he would
never leave me at the alter, it wasn't working. I saw a flash of color before Mr. And
Mrs. Hanning stood like a towering fence in front of me. Mr. Hanning sported a ashen
face whilst Mrs. Hanning was shaking like a frail leaf about to plunge toward the
hard ground during a storm. In that one moment everything changed.
The only word I understood at that moment was 'accident'. That's what they
called it anyway... an 'accident'. I could see the faded, blue Olds Mobile mangled
around the other car in my mind. The three most important people in my life were just
accessories to this bleak scene in my minds eye. I could see Holden in the plain suit
he had been so proud of, its buttons marched down his front swiftly but now they lie
scattered on the worn carpet. My Mothers blonde hair flowing with crimson liquid and
my Father's horn rimmed glassed cracked... broken. All of them were broken, like
puppets with cut strings. I slunk to my small knees and clung to my sides... I was
alone. Silent tears fell freely from my icy, blue eyes as a murmur spread through the
watching crowd. All watching me. Not a single person could understand but all
They all lost at least one person that day, I lost four. Mother, full of
compassion and love for all. Father, who could tell a story with only his eyes but
was always laughing so much you could barely see them. Holden, my love, who had kept
me safe from any and all who thought to brake me. And myself, even now I could feel
the energy seep from me, my emotion totally abandoning me. I clung to my sanity, but
in the end it made things worse. With a sigh of defeat I let go, waving a final fair
well to my soul I fainted.
