"I'm partial to Ryuuk, so forgive me if my answer is one-sided.

Doing Ryuuk without Prosthetics takes a bit of creativity. You won't be able to
simulate the upturned nose or the enlarged bulbous eyes, unless you use really
crafty highlight and shadow techniques. Even then, it will only look right from
specific angles. If you search the cosplay gallery you can get some inspiration on
how to do it simply.

As far as types of makeup, Kryolan Aquacolor would be easiest. It provides a nice
matte foundation appropriate for both Ren and Ryuuk.

Ryuuk greatly varies depending on the image, so there is a lot of freedom. Most
Ryuuk cosplays (including mine) use gloves. You should only need to makeup the head

As far as the mouth, he just has lipstick (so to speak) around his mouth to accent
it. Dark aquacolor makeup would be better for adherence, but not required. Touched
up around the lips with matching lipstick if possible. The colors you select is up

My parents have grounded me from the computer, but of course I try sneaking in. Now
it ends, and even so. . . :/I’m getting so slow and so lame I can’t even log in
to Kupika. I have become so lazy. I don’t think I can stay as long on here and I
will certainly not try to quit. But it might overcome me vehemently. 
My eyes hurt all day, too. I can’t put on my contacts without crying and I might

I have the Ryuuk costume from DeathNote, but my mommy said it will scare all the
local children. So I wore it, of course! It got many fingers pointed at me, so I
went back to change and I didn’t end up wearing a costume. Just jeans and a shirt
with a fuzzy sweater on top. Fine with me, the costume was probably overboard and I
still got lots of caaaandy! :DDDDD
