Learn some Japanese here!! (part 1)

Ok, I'll just introduce myself to all of you first. My name is Natsuko Nakao. Natsuko means "SUMMER GIRL." Nakao means: "RIDGE OF A MOUNTAIN." My....great great great great great relatives and our surname has a legend. (I'll tell you the story.) Once upon a time, (haha, disney.) There was a family living on a MOUNTAIN'S RIDGE....(what else, I forgot...haha) and, the villagers called that family "Nakao." (but now, we're not living in a mountain's ridge.) Now, we're living......near a mountain!! But our surname is still Nakao. My name is "SUMMER GIRL" because I'm born on summer season. Ok, end of the story. Here's some basics of Japanese: (including pronunciations) Watashi wa ______ desu. (WA TA SHE WA ______ DES.) Which means: I'm ______. Watashi wa ______ sai desu. (WA TA SHE WA ______ SA-I DES.) Which means: I'm ______ years old. Watashi no otanjobi wa ___ __ desu. (WA TA SHE NO O TAN JO BE WA __ __ DES.) Which means: My birthday is on ___ __. Ichigatsu = (EE CHI GUT SUE) January Nigatsu = (KNEE GUT SUE) February Sangatsu = (SANG GUT SUE) March Shigatsu = (SHE GUT SUE) April Gogatsu = (GO GUT SUE) May Rokugatsu = (RO KU GUT SUE) June Nanagatsu = (NA NA GUT SUE) July Hachigatsu = (HA CHI GUT SUE) August Kugatsu = (KU GUT SUE) september Jugatsu = (JU GUT SUE) October Juichigatsu = (JU EE CHI GUT SUE) November Junigatsu = (JU KNEE GUT SUE) December Ichi = (EE CHI) One Ni = (KNEE) Two San = (SANG) Three Yon / Shi = (YONG / SHE) (You can use "Yon" if you like, and you can use "Shi" if you like.) Four Go = (GO) Five Roku = (RO KU) Six Shichi / Nana = (SHE CHI / NA NA) (You can use "Shichi" if you like, and you can use "Nana" if you like.) Seven Hachi = (HA CHI) Eight Kyuu / Kuu = (KYU / KU) (Just like four and seven, you can use whatever you want.) Nine Jyuu = (JU) Ten Jyuu Ichi = (JU EE CHI) Eleven and so on......... Ni Jyuu Ichi = (KNEE JU EE CHI) Twenty-one San Jyuu Ichi = (SANG JU EE CHI) Thirty-one Yon Jyuu Ichi = (YON JU EE CHI) (note: you can't use "shi jyuu ichi") Forty-one Go Jyuu Ichi = (GO JU EE CHI) Fifty Roku Jyuu Ichi = (RO KU JU EE CHI) Sixty Nana Jyuu Ichi = (NA NA JU EE CHI) (note: you can't use "shichi jyuu ichi") Seventy Hachi Jyuu Ichi = (HA CHI JU EE CHI) Eighty Kyuu Jyuu Ichi / Ku Jyuu Ichi = (KYU JU EE CHI) (KU JYUU EE CHI) (note: you can use both of them.) Ninety Hyaku = (HE YA KU) One hundred. Konnichiwa = (KON KNEE CHI WA) It can be "Good Afternoon" or "Hello." but, it literally means Hello. Ohayou Gozaimasu = (OHIO GO ZA-I MAS) (note: you'll just "gozaimasu" if you're talking to someone older than you, or your superior.) It means: Good Morning. Konbanwa = (KONG BANG WA) It means: Good Evening. Oyasumi nasai = (O YA SUE ME NA SA-I) It means: Good night. Probably you're confused about "Konbanwa" and "Oyasumi". You'll just say Oyasumi nasai before you go to bed. Example conversation: A: *akubi* Okasan, Ima nan ji desu ka? B: Ima wa Ku-ji da yo. Ashita wa gakkou ni kuru yo. A: Hai, Oyasumi nasai. ~translation~ A: *yawns* Mom, What time is it now? B: It's now 9:00 o-clock. and you're going to school tomorrow. A: Ok, Good night. Now, did you understand what's the difference in "Konbanwa" and "Oyasumi"? I'll make another page, and I'll write the other basics there. If you could put up the hiragana and kanji of the vocabulary, that'd be even
awesome-r. But, like I said, great job. Thanks for taking the time to put all that
up! :3
