SwitcH! also known as Itai Bruce Chimani is a young, Christian
entreprenuer who is involved in christian rap music, christian
theatre, christian media - newspapers, magazines, radio and televison.
Born on the 29th of January 1991, Itai grew up in the stealthy
neighbourhood of Queens Park East in the local police camp. His
father, who is a cop was later moved to Sauerstown Police Station,
where Itai pretty much discovered much of himself. At age 13 he fell
in love with hip-hop musisc - the likes of Eminem, Kanye West and
Tupac had a huge beckoning on what he would later on become. Over the
years he established himself among the 'm'rappers' in his school at
St. Columba's High School in Makokoba, Bulawayo. This was the same
place, however, he began preaching the good news of the kingdom of God
after he had been converted in late 2007.

Itai recalls how during lunch-time he would spit raps to his
classmate,"..they used to call me up to entertain them during break
time and I would rap about my 'swagga', or so I thought I had, I'd
also rap about about girls, about what I thought was 'love', my
'enemies' and all. Those were the days when the skill was really
established." As time went on, he would hook up with some of his
classmates and he would do raps with them, folks like LyriB, Miguel
Baine etc. Back in Sauerstown, he was then the entertainer in the
camp, doing raps during times power cuts in the eveneings for the
folks and even at any other time when it was necessary. After a while,
other homies of his began to show interest in the rap game. Dudes like
Killer G, Slum Tint and so on came up round about that time and they
would grow together in the game, hoping to make it on to the big-boys
league. Having been so entrenched into 'thug life' by being embased in
the philosophic raps of Tupac Shakur, Itai would grow to draw away
from acknowledging the presence of God in his life, a God who he had
heard about numerously at church and also through his mother's
teaching. The influence that Tupac had on his life was such that at a
certain point his only hair-cuts were the plain-cuts (chis-kop)which
were typical of Tupac. His rap style drifted from the bubbly, BIGGIE
type which he had picked up over the years to the more poetic and
narrative style which Tupac had imparted. His musical library was
polarised in the direction of gangstar rap and its associated genres.
Initially, his stage name had been 'Emikode' until he met Tupac and
began calling himself "Pacemikode". Pacemikode would go on to turn to
be this nasty lyricist whose main emphasis was hate, malice and
impurity. He would later on die, as God began birthing a new passion
within Itai.

On the academic side, Itai had been doing quite well. He virtually
never brought home any report card that displeased his parents at
anytime. His class positions ranged only from 1 to 4 and he kept this
consistence in such regard. This actually made it easier for him to be
astray from the reality of his waywardness, in a spiritual sense. At
16, while he was doing Form Four, he was selected to be among the 10
junior prefects which the school had selected to initiate a kind of
understudying for future prefect bodies. Frankly, Itai did not expect
this to be, they were better people whom he thought deserved to take
up such a post. However, this actual promotion would later prove to be
his lifeline and his point of ministry later on as he was saved.

After writing his Ordinary Level exams, Itai travelled all the way to
Manicaland in Mutare, to retreat for a while. Having been lonely in
the countryside, Itai began writing a book, documenting every aspect
of his life at that time. The book, a 32-pager, would later on prove
to be the resource that God would use to alert Itai of his sinful
nature. Itai states that after writing the book, he stored it away for
a day or two to clear his mind up and after that time he took it up
and began reading it over. "After I read the story of my life in my
own hand-writing, I did not like it. I began feeling a void in my
life, I knew what I had to do but I did not know what I had to do."
Itai was grossly convicted of sin at that time and when he came back
home his sense of life had changed - it just did not feel normal for
him to do the things which he used to do. After sometime, a friend
invited him to his church and Itai would attend that church and find a
temporary home. "I did a lot of growing up at that church, real talk.
After I began developing my personal relationship with God, I began
feeling bottled up in that congregation. It no longer felt like home
anymore. Those days I began searching the scriptures for truth and I
did not agree with the basic doctrinal fibre of that church and so I
left. I used to pray for hours on end (literally), and in my own
understanding not tongues, and I really developed my relationship with
God then.On my leaving that church, I did not know where I was going
to go. I skipped church the next two Sundays, and I really thought
that this Christian thing is fake coz nobody was giving me the answers
I wanted, but thenon the third week of my 'backsliding' I woke up very
early in the morning and told my moms that I was going into town to
find another church. When I got into town, frankly and honestly, i
dont recall what happened, I just found my way to Word of Life
Bulawayo City Centre...the rest is history..."

I am very passionate about the media, communication and journalism. In
a few years time I will be setting up Godly Proverb Holdings
International, a Christo-centric media house that will be one of the
leading establishments both in commercial African media and also in
the Christian domain.

Through this media house, I seek to minister and serve all notions of
our being - our spirits, our souls and our bodies, not rawly with the
word of God but also with natural principles of operation in the
domain of the flesh like health, wellbeing, leadership, finances et

I will run 3 main TV networks, two of them running from Zimbabwe and
the other one running from Europe. In Africa, I will also have 5
magazine publications which would cater for different sector groups
within our population. A newspaper would also run from Southern
