I am from the anime and the manga Fruits Basket


my story:
After her mother died in a car accident, Tohru moved into a tent on
land owned by the Sohma family. She only took a few things with her,
including a photograph of her mother, which she talks to. She is
later discovered by Shigure and Yuki Sohma, who allow her to live in
their home in exchange for her cooking and cleaning. However, the
subsequent appearance of Kyo Sohma arriving to challenge Yuki to a
fight results in Tohru discovering the secret of the Sohma family; as
she attempts to stop the two boys from fighting, she accidentally hugs
Kyo and he transforms into a cat. Bewildered, she accidentally ends up
falling onto Yuki and Shigure causing them to transform as well, they
transform into a rat and dog.

The Sohmas reveal that members of their family have been cursed to
transform into the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac and a cat.
Since Tohru has discovered their secret, her memory is to be erased.
However, the head of the family, Akito Sohma, mysteriously decides to
allow Tohru to retain her memories and continue living with Yuki, Kyo,
and Shigure. Tohru comes to befriend the three Sohmas and hopes that
Kyo and Yuki will become friends.

As Tohru continues to live with Kyo, Yuki, and Shigure, she also
becomes closer to other cursed members of Sohma family and helps to
ease their emotional anxieties and distancing from other people. She
ends up becoming particularly close to Kyo after the "true form" of
his curse is revealed and continues to stay by his side, even after
he tried to push her away. After learning of the feelings the cursed
members of the Sohma family regarding the curse and a distressing bet
that Kyo has made with Akito, Tohru becomes determined to help the
Sohmas find a way to break their curse. She and Kyo begin to develop
feelings for one another, which further motivates Tohru to find a way
to help her new friends find happiness.

Tohru's kindness and ability to accept each of the thirteen cursed
members of the Sohma family causes Akito to become especially
antagonistic to Tohru. However, when Tohru realizes the true nature
of Akito's feelings and motivations behind Akito's actions, Tohru
extends her hand to Akito as a gesture of kindness and friendship.
However, as Akito is about to accept, Tohru ends up falling down a
nearby cliff when the ground collapses. The accident allows Kyo to
realize how much he values having Tohru in his life and also allows
Akito to finally break away from the role she has held for most of
her life.

Tohru survives the fall and is hospitalized briefly. During her
recovery, Akito accepts Tohru's friendship and is able to accept
herself instead of being the person she believed her father wished
her to be; her attitudes towards the Jyunishi change as a result.
Meanwhile, Tohru and Kyo eventually reconcile when Kyo confesses his
feelings for her. It subsequently allows for the curse on the Sohma
family to be broken.

my background:
During the beginning of the story, Tohru lives in a tent because her
parents, Kyoko Honda and Katsuya Honda, have died and her
grandfather's house is being remodeled. Her grandfather asks her to
stay with a friend during the remodeling, but Tohru chooses to live
in a tent because she realizes her request would be a burden for her
best friends, Arisa Uotani and Saki Hanajima. Despite the
uncomfortable conditions, Tohru remains optimistic, affectionately
calling her tent 'my castle'. While leaving her tent to go to school,
she comes across Shigure Sohma's house and stops to look at his Zodiac
animal decorations. Tohru later discovers that she had been camping on
land owned by the Sohma family. After a landslide that destroys her
tent, she begins living in the Sohma household, where she cooks and
cleans in return for shelter. Over time, Tohru's relationship with
the Sohmas becomes much more complex.

It is also revealed that several of Tohru's quirks (like her speech)
originate from an imitation of her father's character, or at least
what she can recall from what Kyoko and her grandfather had told her
about Katsuya. Some relatives actually wondered if Tohru really was
Katsuya's daughter, and at one point Tohru overheard them discussing
this; since then, she decided to imitate her dad's quirks as much as
she could, to prove herself as a member of the Honda family.

Another one of her quirks, her tendency to be concerned for people
with diseases, comes from the situation surrounding her father's
death. Katsuya was originally diagnosed with a fever; however, he did
not recover and eventually died of pneumonia.
