Kelli Pickler and Gloriana!Taylor’s obviously excited about the
opportunity to run the show and give audiences themost bang for their
concert buck as well. Here’s what she had to say:
“Headlining my own tour is a dream come true,” Swift said in
a press release announcing the tour on Friday (Jan. 30). “This way,
I can play more music every night than I ever have before. Having
written my own songs, they are all stories in my head, and my goal
for this tour is to bring those stories to life. My favorite thing
when I go to a concert is having lots of changing things to look at,
so I’ve been working really hard to make this show as
multi-dimensional as possible. I want to be sure that everyone has
the opportunity to come see my show, so we have affordable tickets
available for every date we do this year.”

SOME FACTS ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT:
Taylor Swift Biography:
Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Reading,
Pennsylvania. Growing up, she developed a love for country music,
especially Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton. By the age of 10, she began
performing around her hometown, at festivals, fairs and sang at
karaoke contests. She started writing songs at the age of 12, and
this was the same time she got her first guitar.
Big Break
Taylor's family realized her talent and determination, and they made
regular trips to Nashville. At the age of 14, she became the youngest
songwriter signed to a publishing deal with Sony/ATV. This is when the
family packed up and moved to Hendersonville, TN.
At a showcase at the Bluebird Cafe, Taylor caught the attention of
Scott Borchetta, who was at the time planning to launch a new label.
He signed her to his label, "Big Machine Records," and a career was
born.
Her self-titled debut was released in 2006. It debuted at No. 3, but
39 weeks later, it hit the top of the charts and has sold over 2.5
million copies, earning the young star a Platinum album.
2007 is Taylor Swift's Year
Although her album came out in October 2006, it was 2007, that was
really a career year for Taylor Swift. As mentioned above, her album
reached the No. 1 spot on the charts, and did so well that her label
decided to re-package it with some video content, a few more songs,
and release it as a Deluxe Limited Edition. Fans could listen to
several new songs, watch all the videos released up until that time,
plus watch a movie edited by Taylor herself.
In April, Taylor won her first award, at the CMT Music Awards, for
"Breakthrough Video," for "Tim McGraw." She was so ecstatic, that she
promised to take the award with her out on the road with Brad Paisley
later that year. And, she did.
At the ACM Awards that year, Taylor finally got to meet her idol, and
the namesake of her first hit song, "Tim McGraw." Not only did she
meet him, but she actually sang "Tim McGraw" to him, as he and wife
Faith Hill sat in the front row at the awards show. Fans will not
forget when the song ended, she reached out her hand, and said, "Hi,
I'm Taylor." It was such a precious moment.
At the ACM Awards, Taylor collected the Best New Female Artist Award.
In November at the CMA Awards, she took home the Horizon Award.
Before the end of the year, and her 18th birthday, she would reach
another milestone, as her single "Our Song" became her first No. 1
song. Not only was it No. 1, but it remained in the position for six
weeks, into 2008.
Taylor Moves Fearlessly In 2008
In 2008, Taylor continued touring (she was on the road with Rascal
Flatts as well as headlining some shows), which she loves so much.
In November 2008, she released her sophomore release, titled
Fearless. Like the first album, it contains songs she's written and
co-written. If it ain't broke... Whatever she does, you can be sure
it will be a success. This girl looks to Garth Brooks as inspiration
for how to treat her fans, and you can't get a better inspiration
than that.

Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American
country-pop singer-songwriter. In 2006, she released her debut single
"Tim McGraw", which peaked at number six on the Billboard country
charts. Later in October 2006, she released her self-titled debut
album, which produced five hit singles on the Billboard Hot Country
Songs charts and was certified 3× Multi-Platinum by the RIAA. The
New York Times described Swift as "one of pop's finest songwriters,
country’s foremost pragmatist and more in touch with her inner life
than most adults".[3]
According to Nielsen SoundScan, Swift was the biggest selling artist
of 2008 in America with combined sales of more than four million
albums. Swift's Fearless and her self-titled album finished 2008 at
number three and number six respectively, with sales of 2.1 and 1.5
million.[4] She was the first artist in the history of Nielsen
SoundScan to have two different albums in the Top 10 on the year end
album chart.[5] Fearless has topped the Billboard 200 in 11
non-consecutive weeks.[6] No album has spent more time at number one
since 1999-2000. It also the first album by a female artist in
country music history to log eight weeks at #1 on The Billboard 200.
In mid-January 2009, Swift became the first country artist to top the
2 million mark in paid downloads with three different songs.[7] As of
the week ending February 8, 2009, Swift's single "Love Story" became
the country song with most paid downloads in history and the first
country song to top the Mainstream Top 40 chart.[8][9]

Early life
Swift was born in the city of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. She is the
daughter of Scott, a stock broker, and Andrea Swift, a stay-at-home
mother. She has one younger brother, Austin.[10] When she was in
fourth grade, Swift won a national poetry contest with a three-page
long poem entitled "Monster In My Closet".[11][12] At the age of ten,
Swift began writing songs and singing at karaoke contests, festivals,
and fairs around her hometown. During one summer, Swift devoted
herself to writing a 350-page (unpublished) novel.[13] She was a
member of Kirk Cremer's SNL-inspired kid's sketch comedy group,
TheatreKids Live!, where she was a natural comedic talent. After
seeing her karaoke performance at one of the cast parties, it was
Cremer's mother who first suggested that Swift seemed more of a
natural to pursue a career in country music, rather than theatrical
performing. Cremer soon leased space at a local mall and began to
showcase his young protege in weeknight performances of country songs
with karaoke backing tracks. Emboldened by her performances and
growing audiences, she began to perform in other local open mike and
karaoke nights. Her first major show was a well-received performance
at the Bloomsburg Fair, arranged by local performer Pat Garrett.[14]
Early work
Swift's greatest musical influence is Shania Twain.[15] Her other
influences include her grandmother and LeAnn Rimes.[16] Although her
grandmother was a professional opera singer,[17] Taylor's tastes
always ran more toward country and she developed a love for Patsy
Cline and Dolly Parton at an early age.[18] She also credits the
Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain for demonstrating how much impact can
be made by "stretching boundaries".[19]
At age eleven, Swift made her first trip to Nashville hoping to
obtain a record deal by distributing a demo tape of her singing with
karaoke songs. She gave a copy to every label on Music Row.[16] Swift
faced rejection, not just from record labels, but also from her
peers.[20] After Swift returned to Pennsylvania, she was asked to
sing at the U.S. Open tennis tournament; her rendition of the
national anthem received a lot of attention.[21]
Swift started writing songs and playing 12-string guitar when she was
twelve. Swift began to regularly visit Nashville and wrote songs with
local songwriters. By the time she was fourteen, her family decided
to move to an outlying Nashville suburb.[22] When Swift was fifteen,
she rejected a development deal with RCA Records because the company
refused to allow her to record her own songs.[23] Swift then
performed at Nashville's songwriters' venue, The Bluebird Café,
catching the attention of Scott Borchetta[24] who signed her to his
newly-formed record label, Big Machine Records. She also became the
youngest staff songwriter ever hired by the Sony/ATV Tree publishing
house.[25]

Swift's first single, "Tim McGraw", was released to radio in mid-2006
and reached number 6 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart during the
week of January 27, 2007.[26] Swift said, "I wrote the song in my
freshman year of high school. I was dating a guy who was about to go
off to college. I knew we were going to break up so I started
thinking of all the things that I knew would remind him of me.
Surprisingly, the first thing that came to mind was that my favorite
country artist is Tim McGraw."[18] Her self-titled debut album Taylor
Swift was released on October 24, 2006.[27] Swift wrote or co-wrote
all of the songs on the album, which debuted at number 19 on the
Billboard 200 and sold just 39,000 copies during its first week.[28]
It later peaked at number one at Billboard Top Country Albums and
number five on the Billboard 200.[29] It also spent eight consecutive
