The Photoshop website offers free trials, and you might be able to get one for Paint
Shop Pro as well.

They're not easier or harder, just very different, I think? I haven't used PSP but
my boy--um, ex.. boyfri.. um, FRIEND @_@ uses it all the time and wasn't happy to see
things all jumbled around when he used Photoshop. He doesn't use advanced tools,
though, and neither do I yet, so it depends how far you plan to go. Photoshop didn't
take me too long to get used to. 

I would really love to have photoshop since i like making things. Alas i only have
Ms paint and some other thing. I like using paint because it's not hard to use but i
want to be able to make icons and other things.

@ darkdreams; download GIMP if you haven't already! I haven't used it but I hear
it's tolerable. I'm lucky enough to have a really wonderful friend who lent me her
version of PS7 <3333 Some people aren't so program-blessed I guess XD
