I love reading, writing, drawing, music, sports...I'm game for almost
anything. I'm a dreamer; I have a wild imagination. I can be a quiet
person around a new acquaintance, but I'm very comfortable in most
situations. I love laughing, and though I don't always try to make
others laugh, they often do. Apparently, I have a very dry, witty
sense of humor, but I am terrible at sarcasm. I trust people very
easily, and I forgive easily. You really have to hurt me to lose my
regard, but once it's gone, you don't get it back. I love being around
other people and asking them questions. I think it's because I love
knowing new things, and I am interested in so many different things-
other people just fascinate me.
I was just thinking about Nelson Mandela's inaugural speech...that one
where he says 'Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our
deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light,
more than our darkness, which scares us...' (Or something like that.)
Actually, I think he was quoting somebody like Marianne Williamson,
but that's beside the point.
-Anyway, it had me thinking, that's why I can seem more reserved to
some people. When I'm in a leadership position, I am always able to
take charge, but I prefer the background. I have this ability to
influence people, and I'd rather sow my ideas in other people and
watch them take root. I feel like I have more power that way- I can
spread out in so many different ways.
(These are deep thoughts for 11:45 at night...)
I am a hopeless romantic. I am also mortified to admit that, because I
have a lot of brothers and I've been used to acting like a tough guy
all my life. One thing I enjoy about not living at home is that I get
to be around girls. I don't feel quite so out of place all the time.
Well, I should qualify: I am lightyears behind in flirting and catty
girl talk. In some ways, I am grateful for that, because I can get
along with anyone solidly. But it can be a problem, because it's hard
for me to react when a girl is nasty- I get really confused.
So, the moral of the story is: I think boys are cute, but I learned a
lesson when it comes to telling my more...[promiscuous]...friends
Wow...that was random. Apologies.
A continuation of the randomness: I just thought about this. I think
because my swim season just got over, and it's rock star week. (But no
drinking tonight, 'cause I've a test tomorrow) Parties rock my socks-
I'm not the 'life of the party,' but I love talking to people
and...drinking...BUT! I've never been drunk. I was pretty close the
other night though...after only...umm...6 shots (the last one was
mixed with an entire can of Dr. Pepper...yes, I'm a lightweight). It
might have been 7. I don't remember. Friday night though, baby- we've
got a list on the fridge of all the alcohol we've been craving. (And
then Saturday I get to go volunteer at a confirmation retreat for my
church...joy- hungover and praising God with sophomores after a night
Am I allowed to talk about drinking here? I mean, since I'm underage
and all? I guess I'll find out if they cancel me out of this site.
Just a thought.
Question: Is this too long? I've no idea what the hell I'm supposed to
put on this.
Shall we do a sum-up? (According to those questions that are flashing
under the box and are immensely distracting...)
1. No pets
2. I sing
3. Favorite Movie: The Sting
4. Favorite food= Applesauce with cinnamon
5. I wear glasses.
6. I am single.
7. I believe in God.
8. My hair color is confusing. Some people think it's red, others say
blonde. I think it's just easier to be a brunette.
9. I love sports. I swim. I am a runner. I watch football, soccer,
hockey, baseball, wrestling.
10. I love music. I prefer rock. I enjoy country, rap, hip-hop, all
that Top-40 stuff, classical. Acoustic melts my soul.
11. I prefer love. But a little romance is certainly welcome.
12. I am 18.
...sick of doing that. The End.
