Artist of the Month [August 2009]
::Welcome to the Artist of the Month Page::
By KusuKusu
(Random anime girl...apparently drawing herself.)
This page showcases the best of the best an new and upcoming
doodlers on our very own Kupika!
Many artist go unrecognized for their talents, and mere doodles
can be quite eye-catching!
This month we take a look at the whimsical and fluid and often
adorable artwork of...Kyun_yo!
We've asked Kyun_yo a series of questions to see what makes him
tick. So, without further ado...
_
What's the best part about drawing for
you?
-Uh... the best part about it would honestly be looking at the final product
and
nitpick all the little problems it has. I like to not draw at my full potential so I
(or other people) don't pop my glee bubble. =o
::The final product::
How do you feel about art classes?
-
I feel like I know a bit too much to be going over the basics like proportions
(since I was self-taught and improving in that area...) and things like that.
Drawing can be tedious though...x.x
You're lost on an isolated island. Which three art supplies would you wish to
have with you?
-My laptop, internet connection, and electricity. =D (I only do draw on my
computer
anyways...)
What is the most difficult thing for you to draw?
-Poses. Perspective. Color Choices. Clothes. Eyes. Expressions.
Many, many things. x.x
::Many, many things::
What is your view on art critiques?
-I like them a lot, but I rarely do ever need it. I think art critiques are very
helpful and helps people grow. =o In my point of view, critiques help beginning
artists to improve and point out what's wrong, but sooner or later when artists
mature, they've got to develop an eye to spot out their own mistakes without people
naming it.
Has anyone randomly walked up to you and asked you to draw
them? Would you if
someone did?
-Well... no one really did because no one knows how well I draw. XD I always draw
random faces on their paper so they kind of assume that it's all I can do. I think
it'd be hard to draw someone's face since they're probably going for realism. So I
wouldn't really...xD
Finally, do you have any advice for aspiring artists?
-Drawing should not be a chore but rather a hobby. Don't beat yourself up to become
like one of the 'best' artists out there.
::Don't beat yourself up::
