Can You
It has been raining all week here in Florida.
I created this to show how I have been holding up.
As I leave home to go to class,
I look at the sky to find it a clear and sunny day.
During the lecture, I sit in one place and take notes for almost 5 hours.
A few minutes before class ends,
We are awakened from the boredom by the sound of thunder off in the distance.
Once class is over,
I hurry to walk almost half a mile to my car,
But I find myself a bit late and try to take refuge in the library nearby.
By the time I get there I am partially soaked,
But that is more than enough to make me shiver as I enter a colder than usual library.
After the rain dies down, I rush over to the car,
Soaking my feet on a flooded parking lot along the way.
I get home, only to have an hour or two to prepare something to eat and unwind.
Once the rain recedes,
I leave to run 5-8 miles on the moistened grass field located at my university.
Done with my exercise for the day,
I come back home, take a shower and lay in bed.
I quickly succumb to sleep and am awakened 4-5 hours later by the sound of pouring rain.
At first opening my eyes causes pain,
As if the fluid keeping them moist had disappeared.
Finally awake, I take out my books and notes and try to study
Until I become fatigued or until it is time to go to class again.
In between studying I take some mental breaks.
During my 5-10 minute breaks I lie in bed and try to think about my life and my goals.
I find myself with almost none, but then I start to smile as I begin to dream of her.
I turn on the radio and listen as a song comes on.
Restless, I suddenly fall asleep,
Only to wake up a few hours later and repeat it all over again.
