Listen up, boys. Unless if you’re Ulrich Stern, Odd Della Robbia,
or Jeremie Belpois, be sure you keep on My good side. You seriously
do not want to meet my bad side. Seriously.
on Lyoko
from Jeremie’s point of vew
Weapon: Tessen Fans
Vehicle: Overwing
Subconscious Inspiration: Geisha
Knowing Yumi for the longest time now, Yumi’s subconscious
inspiration that gave her the “fighter geisha” look in Lyoko
obviously reminded me how she is very proud to be Japanese. Anyhow,
in addition to that “geisha” look, her outfit is simple enough
for her to move around quick and perform her expert gymnastic
movements during battle. Like Ulrich, she is also an expert martial
artist (she is Ulrich’s training partner after all…), which also
gives her an advantage in combat situations. She is no “delicate
beauty”— she can defeat anyone and anything in sight. In real
life, she can even kick Ulrich’s bu defeat Ulrich in martial arts
training. In addition, she is also the leader of the fighting team in
Lyoko, making quick and accurate decisions on who is going to take on
what enemy. I also like the way she judges things and I also tend to
stick to what she believes in (except for this “thing” that she
and I always talk about in private in real life…). Her default
weapon are two circular blades disguised as “delicate” tessen
fans, thrown directly towards her targets like how you would throw a
frisbee, and immediately return right back to her (like a boomerang).
She can also use her fans as her shield from the lasers that the
monsters shoot against her (but it’s not always easy). Like Odd,
Yumi is also a mid-to-long range distance fighter; she can strike
anywhere at a good distance between herself and the enemy. The only
difference is that while Odd can only destroy one monster at a time,
Yumi can destroy a lot more if her timing and the synchronized
position of the enemies are accurate all at one time.
Disadvantage:
Like Ulrich’s disadvantage, Yumi can also be defenseless without a
weapon on her hand. Sometimes XANA’s monsters are clever enough to
shoot her fans out of the way and not fly back to her like how a
boomering should be like. Open-hand combat isn’t exactly going to
save her life in this situation, so she will have to do more
defensive maneuvers (such as her gymnastic somersaults) to keep
herself safe.
[Yumi’s Vehicle: Overwing]
Not quite as fast as Odd’s Overboard, but the Overwing does have
its advantages and disadavantages all the same. Lyoko pretty much is
all “submerged” on air with the danger of the digital sea right
below each of the four sectors. Unlike Odd’s Overboard, the
Overwing has its capability of shielding Yumi (and her passenger if
needed), spacious for another person to ride along with the window,
and most of all, it can still travel about the same rate as
Ulrich’s Overbike. The reason why Yumi’s vehicle is a little
“big” so that Aelita can hitch a ride with her (I didn’t have
enough time and resources to create a vehicle for Aelita) with more
space left. One thing that Yumi does with her Overwing that the other
two (Ulrich and Odd) doesn’t do— there will be at times where Yumi
would use this vehicle as her weapon of choices to battle XANA’s
monster.
The Overwing almost has the same specific features as the Overboard,
with only one thing. The Overboard cannot reach out a very high
altitude when travelling in mid-air, while the Overwing can fly at
any altitude in Lyoko’s aerial atmosphere. It may not be as
super-speedy or as fancy as the Overboard, but it’s definitely the
safest vehicle I created.
[Distinctive Lyoko Special Powers]
Yumi possesses one distinctive special power. Like everyone’s other
special powers, Yumi uses hers very seldomly and whenever it’s
necessary.
TELEKINESIS
When necessary, Yumi uses her telekinetic powers to control inanimate
objects (such as rocks and the likes…) to attack monsters or defend
herself (and the rest of the team) from getting attack by the
enemies. It takes the right amount of power, concentration, and time
for her to perform her telekinesis successfully.
Advantage:
Yumi is a strong person, both in real life and in Lyoko. She is a
very patient person when it comes to anything, and because of her
patience, she is able to use her telekinesis at long lengths of time.
Though not very used often, she only uses this when necessary. When
she is distracted, she is still able to continue without any ease.
Disadvantage:
If Yumi gets attacked or distracted, she will lose all of her
concentration and will lose control on her inanimate objects. In
addition to that, the Telekinesis power can also get her fatigued,
causing her life points to deplete gradually.
[Jeremie’s Current Upgrade]
Double-Tessen Fans
Yumi’s Tessen FAn is a very simple weapon that without it, she can
be vulnerable as a fighter. I know my little upgrade is rather
simple, but it definitely helps Yumi become a more effective fighter
in Lyoko. It’s the same as her original one, but only now that she
has two.
Advantage:
Since Yumi is amazing with her gymnastic/acrobatic somersault
routines, she can do a lot of fatal, effective attacks against her
enemies, which makes her one unique Lyoko warrior… and of course,
she is now able to kill a lot more enemies than before. ^^;
Disadvantage:
Same as always… ^^;
